The Heil Sound Heritage is a high-performance dynamic microphone designed for commercial broadcast, live sound reinforcement, and recording studios. The molded steel body is first copperplated, then chromeplated for a gorgeous finish that looks as if it were inches deep. A blue foam windscreen was molded to fit the inside of the microphone shell for an even cooler retro look.
The Heritage mic achieves its exceptional performance by using a special magnet structure and a 1-1/8" aluminum, low-mass voice coil assembly. Special attention has been paid to the phasing plug assembly, with equally placed ports that sense out-of-phase audio from behind the source. The result is a very linear cardioid pattern, a reduction of the proximity effect, and smooth articulation across the mic's response range.
The Heritage mic's dynamic element is mounted into a special sorbothane shockmount system for extremely low handling noise. This low handling noise and the lack of bass-boosting proximity effect makes the Heritage an ideal microphone for professional uses. The Heil Heritage has a 5/8" standard thread assembly and slide switch to turn the audio on and off.
