If you own a StroboRack, you know you’re already on the cutting edge of tuner technology, let the SR-EX StroboRack Expander kick it up a notch!

The SR-EX StroboRack Expander Module fits easily in the rear panel of your StroboRack and increases its capabilities far beyond those of any tuner on the market today. It’s affordable, takes only a few minutes to install and it makes tuning all the following instruments possible.

Hybrid Guitars

Hybrids are guitars with both electric and acoustic pickups installed which put out both an electric and an acoustic signal at the same time down two separate lines.

Most Hybrid guitars come with a zip cord which is essentially a single stereo jack on the guitar side split to two single mono cords/ jacks on the amp/DI side. Anyone who owns a Hybrid guitar knows that the placement of amplifiers and/or DI boxes can vary vastly and this system can end up with you, the player, moored to the stage at two points like a ship at the quayside!

The StroboRack Expander makes the StroboRack the first tuner with a stereo input jack allowing you to use a regular stereo cord from your guitar to the StroboRack. You can tune silently using either signal and the Expander outputs the signals separately. Either of these can be patched to the onboard active DI and all outputs can be muted using the optional footswitch! A second footswitch socket allows you to control which output is active; electric, acoustic or both. The SR-EX Expander gives your StroboRack great versatility - a tuner, breakout box, channel switcher and active DI to boot!

Stereo Guitars/Basses

Stereo guitars present the problem of the need for a splitter or breakout box since so few rack FX units have stereo input jacks, and no tuner did until now. With the SR-EX installed in the rear panel of your StroboRack, your stereo signal path flows uninterrupted from the guitar down a single stereo cable through the tuner where each half of the stereo pair gets its own output jack. From there you can feed two amps, two FX units or two single channels on a console. Both signals can be muted by pressing the mute button or with a single stomp on the optional footswitch.

Ever wonder what that Rickenbacker® 360 or 4001 would sound like hooked up Ric-O-Sound™ fashion? Now’s your chance to find out!

Balanced Instruments

So you’ve bought that high end guitar or bass with the XLR output jack, now what? No backline gear seems to be set up for receiving balanced signals, so you’re stuck with going straight to a mixing console, with no provision for tuning or FX – Enter the StroboRack’s Expander, with its XLR input, output and a ¼” mono tap for you to side-chain some FX from.

Alembic®, Wal®, Gibson®, Taylor®, Ibanez® and various pickup manufacturers like Fishman®, K & K®, Schertler® etc. all have high quality pickup systems that output a balanced signal, but where do you patch a tuner in that doesn't compromise the signal quality and still lets you mute?

Look no further than the Peterson StroboRack with an SR-EX Expander!

Touch & Tap Instruments (Chapman Stick®., Mobius Megatar®., Warr®. etc.)

Many of these instruments have two output jacks (one each for bass and treble sides). To tune both sides you have to plug and unplug. Not any more!

Using one of those “two-fer” cords that the hybrid guy above got stuck with, but this time used the other way around - two mono jacks plug into your Stick and the stereo jack plugs into the StroboRack (w/Expander). Either signal can be tuned without adjusting the tuner, and the Expander puts out each signal on its own output jack, whichever signal you choose can go to the built-in active DI or you can patch each signal to separate amps. Press the mute button or stomp on a mute pedal and both signals are muted.
