During the recordings of the Muted Trumpet in Bb Alfred (Freddy) Staudigl has once again proven to be an experienced master of his art, expanding the classic European style with more intense vibrato, portamento, bends and falls, while sacrificing nothing in aesthetics.

The Single Instrument contains the same articulations as the Trumpet in Bb, but all samples have been recorded using a classical “straight mute”. The result is a thin and slightly “nasal” tone that blends well with ensembles of woodwinds and strings, but is also perfectly suited for lyrical melodic solo lines.
