COMP-4K STRIP is our model of a versatile dynamic multi-tool, found in legendary British 4k mixing desks. With a simple but powerful function and control set, all of which we’ve faithfully recreated, this unit allows you to apply some true analog magic to your modern-day production. The COMP-4K STRIP features a Compressor, Expander, HPF, and LPF modules, each able to not only give you the much desired classic punch, glue, and analog drive but also some neat tricks such as filtering before and after the Compressor or Expander, using the strip for Fast Attack limiting or even as a De-Esser.

History

The 4K is THE mixing board of 80s rock and synthpop, and perhaps one of the most revered desks ever. To create our COMP-4K-STRIP we dismounted an actual channel strip from a well-preserved desk, then painstakingly analyzed and tested its digital recreation rigorously. We can proudly say this resulted in one of the most faithful 4K tributes on the market.
