Released in 1974, the iconic Wurlitzer 200A quickly became a studio staple, celebrated for its compact design, versatility and unmistakable tone. Its distinctive, bright, clear voice can be heard across legendary records throughout history, from Joni Mitchell’s Court and Spark, Pink Floyd’s Have a Cigar, and Elton John’s Bennie and the Jets.
Recognised as the definitive reed-based electric piano, the 200A offers a dynamic, expressive playing experience, with its tone carrying a unique emotional depth – warm and soulful at times, gritty and cutting when pushed. ICONIC VINTAGE TONE VIBRATO & SPEAKERS
The Wurlitzer by Rhodes features a stunningly authentic emulation of the original mono vibrato circuit – a popular part of the piano’s identity. Meticulously modelled and full of analogue warmth, the vibrato breathes vintage soul into every note.
In addition to the Twin and JC amp models featured in the Rhodes Anthology, Wurlitzer by Rhodes introduces a new option: the original front-facing speakers. Known for their distinctive midrange presence and natural breakup, these speakers add an unmistakable character, bringing you closer to the sound and feel of a real 200A.
