History

The original hardware behind our faithfully modeled FET-A78 needs no introduction. The stereo version of one of the most successful and sought-after Peak Limiter Compressors in the whole history of audio engineering is the standard for all top-tier studio facilities and productions. Designed with matching limiters to ensure the perfect balance of both channels when applied to stereo signals, the unit owes its legendary sound to its FET (field-effect transistors) which are here used as voltage variable resistors. We did our best to recreate this unique circuit architecture, which allows for some hardcore limiting without any distortion. With enough analog color but without sound artifacts and an amazing signal-to-noise ratio, this unit is suitable for both subtle and extreme compression.
