The hardware original behind our rendition of Filtek MK3 is a clear and precise EQ with efficient design, employing the best engineering practices and high-quality components. The unit is not only capable of correcting but enhancing the frequency range as well. For example, try boosting the high-end and you’ll notice no additional harshness to the source signal. However, this transparent unit packs plenty of punch when pushed harder, making it an incredible addition to your frequency adjustment toolbox!

The Synergy Core Filtek MK3 features a 3-band EQ design with high- and low-pass filters. Each band allows the user to choose between 12 frequencies with up to 16 dB boost or cut. When in mid position, the three-way bandwidth (Q) switch of each band also allows you to bypass specific bands. The unit’s Parallel EQ signal path delivers unique tone-shaping possibilities by allowing you to mix the dry signal with an additional cut or boost of each bell filter frequency range.

History

Originally designed in the 1970s to stand up to the rigorous standards demanded by the IRT (Institut für Rundfunk Technik), Filtek MK3 is a highly successful unit that was initially used in the broadcasting studios of the most reputable radio stations. Its versatility and analog character quickly brought the unit inside the racks of top-tier recording facilities around the globe where it is to be found to this day.
