Based on legendary analog hardware from the 60s and 70s, VEQ-55b is a four-band EQ that will add rich analog character to your production.

Description

VEQ-55b features four separate frequency bands with up to 12 dB of boost or cut and an expanded selection of fixed frequency positions. The high and low bands offer the option of switching between a bell curve or shelving behavior. The unit’s musicality owes in part to the proportional bandwidth (Q) behavior of each band — ranging from a gentle and wider sloping Q at more subtle levels of boosting or cutting to a more aggressive and narrower slope at higher levels.

Additionally, the adjacent EQ bands offer several overlapping frequency selections which allows you to create complex curves when dialing in the perfect sound. As with all Antelope Audio plugins, the tonal characteristics of the vintage circuitry were carefully modeled to imprint the rich analog character to your sound.

History

The original that inspired us to VEQ-55A is one of the most sound-defining pieces of gear from the late 1960s to the early 1970s. As the name suggests, VEQ-55B is a more modern revision of the classic console EQ module, with expanded controls and quite a few tricks up its sleeve. This EQ module from one of the most trusted mixing consoles to have ever been created has been on so many hit records, that you don’t need to think twice before adding it to your production if you’re after the true analog sound of rock music’s greatest era.
